Loveda Brown finds herself on the run as a killer counts down, people go missing… and not even home base is safe.
No one heard the girl scream. The tiny mountainside town of Idyllwild, California, as yet the Wild West of 1912, is struggling with a runaway boy, an unflappable sorority, a crippled woman, a pack of mules, and now a murder. When the Hemet police step in to assist, Loveda Brown is left to pursue her own suspicions. Is it sabotage, subterfuge, or something more sinister?

You’ll Never Guess Who Did It — Nancy “Pants” Johnson, author ★★★★★
I have read the entire series and Hide and Seek provides the most suspense, the most injuries, the most characters, the most possibilities for who done it, and the most pages turned in an hour. The ending does not disappoint. There better be at least one more! Yes, that is a threat!
Highly recommend! — DS Lang, author ★★★★★
Loveda Brown once again uses her amateur sleuthing skills to catch a killer. This time, sorority girls descend on Idyllwild. When one is murdered, the local lawman, Loveda’s friend, is on the hot seat because the Hemet police chief happens to be on the scene and decides to run the case. And he doesn’t think much of civilians, especially ladies, getting involved in detective work. Loveda, intrepid and independent, is not deterred. A murderer lurks in the woods around her town, and she is determined to catch him. Following along to solve the mystery is fun, since there are enough-but not too many-twists and turns. There are also mules, a rowdy young boy, and an injured fiance. All of the characters spring to life. Highly recommend!
